Visit us

Located in the Gothic shadow of Stirling Castle, at the foot of its historic walls, Stirling Distillery has made its home in the locally nicknamed Old Smiddy. The building was erected in 1888 as a church temperance hall for the city of Stirling and there is evidence that King James stabled his horses on the same area of land in the 13th Century. We restored the Victorian facade and installed a modern visitor’s centre in 2019. We will be renovating our garden over the next twelve months so future visitors can enjoy hundreds of wildflowers supporting local birds, bees and insects. Their nectar is just one of the many local ingredients we plan to use in our range of products.

If you are looking to visit Stirling Distillery, whether it’s to experience a tour, do some gin shopping or just take a peek and enjoy the building, the welcome will be warm. We run a variety of daily activities from tasting tours, masterclasses and The Old Smiddy Gin School.
