Zooming Into 2021!
2020 for us here at Stirling Distillery has been the year of Hand Sanitiser, Zoom and of course plenty GIN! We never imagined our business model would have diversified to the extent it has done and of course we are delighted were able to adapt so innovatively at great speed to the changes that have surrounded us since March.
There has been a phenomenal over 6000 Virtual Tour Lockdown Packs purchased and we have streamed LIVE to over 3000 people with the 18th of December being our busiest of days with 8 live tastings. Our Zoom calls were hosted to groups at an average of 10-20 guests, however we were overwhelmed to receive an audience of 200 from Fujifilm – of course this was a two-man job with Cameron hosting and his lovely assistant Elle answering all the all-important gin questions.
The diary has not calmed down after the festive period, we are continuing our Live Interactive Tastings to keep all our gin and whisky lovers happy throughout these dark Winter months. Who would have thought a Whisky Tasting for Robert Burns night would have gone digital? Yes, that’s correct – we are coming to you LIVE to your sofa.
It is fair to say 2020 is a year we will never forget, especially since it was the launch of many new products that have all been such a great success. In summer we had the launch of the delicious limited edition Tropical Triumph which was a great hit with our customers who enjoyed it on the many warm evenings we were lucky to receive, Tropical Triumph is taking a short break but will return very soon!!
With Pink Gin being the drink of the moment in the ever-evolving Gin industry, we decided it was time we got on board with the trend but of course with our very own unique twist. So, in November we had our newest member of The Folklore Collection introduced ‘Pink Lady’ with a refreshing 12 botanicals including rose petals, pink peppercorn and pink grapefruit.
One of our most exciting and greatest achievement has been the soft launch of Sons of Scotland – our very own independent bottling brand. The Sons of Scotland collection celebrates the history of Stirlingshire’s rich whisky making heritage. The first release from the Sons of Scotland will see Stirling Distillery release single cask bottling features, each named after historical Stirlingshire distilleries. Watch out for the grand launch later this month.
As much as 2020 had put a stop to any external events that we could participate in this year, we are very fortunate that we were still able to get out and meet everyone with our pop up shops at Blair Drummond Safari Park’s Christmas market as well as having our usual Christmas cart in The Thistle Centre.
Our tours and gin school may unfortunately be interrupted for the time being, but we are very excited to welcome you all back in as soon as we can. Please note that we are more than happy to continue to validate all tickets for one year. Having no tours in did have its advantages, the main one being the extra production space for the great number of online orders we have continued to receive.
