Stirling Distillery Announces First Single Malt Whisky Release for June 2027
Scotland’s smallest whisky distillery confirms limited first release of 320 bottles — with King James Cask Club members receiving first refusal
Stirling Distillery, Scotland’s smallest whisky distillery, has confirmed that its first single malt whisky will be released in June 2027. As winners of Best Scottish New Make Whisky at the World Whiskies Awards 2025, they're expecting great things of this first cask.
Located beneath Stirling Castle in the heart of the city, the distillery will produce just 320 bottles of its inaugural release - a direct reflection of its small-batch production and a milestone years in the making.
Members of the King James Cask Club will receive first refusal on the first release, with a waiting list now open for those outside the club. With only 320 bottles available, the distillery expects demand to significantly exceed supply.
“This is a moment we have been working towards since we founded Stirling Distillery in 2019. Single malt has always been at the heart of what June and I set out to do. With only 320 bottles of our first release, it will be genuinely rare and we want the people who have been with us from the beginning to be first in line.”

About the King James Cask Club
The King James Cask Club is built around the VI Casks for King James - a six-bottle collection drawn from six distinct cask finishes: bourbon, sherry, port, rum, red wine and madeira. The set is released bi-annually from 2027 and is strictly limited in number – just 300 places have been released with only nine remaining.
In addition to the VI Casks set, members receive first refusal on all Stirling Distillery whisky releases, priority access to future releases, invitations to exclusive distillery events, and a direct connection to the whisky as it matures from cask to bottle.
