What the Becoming Tour actually is
The Becoming Tour is our most exclusive evening, and we keep it deliberately small. Ten guests at most, gathered around the spirit as it matures, roughly once a month. It runs about an hour and a half, led in person by founder Cameron McCann and distiller Hugo McCann, who pour, talk you through what is happening in the cask, and answer every question you have ever had about how new make becomes single malt.
There is a grazing board by Fletcher's to keep everyone happy, a numbered take home sample so the evening does not end at the door, and a place in the Founders' Ledger for every guest. You are tasting whisky before the world gets to, in the building where it is made, at 9 Lower Castlehill, right under the walls of Stirling Castle. Guests must be 18 or over.
Tasting spirit while it is still becoming whisky is rare. Most people only ever meet a dram once it is finished and bottled. On the Becoming Tour you catch it in the middle of the story, straight from the cask, and you leave understanding exactly why the wait is worth it.
