Stirling Distillery Unveils New Spiced Rum Inspired by Scottish Folklore
Stirling, Scotland — 6th December, 2024 — Stirling Distillery is proud to unveil Stirling Spiced Rum, the latest addition to its award-winning product range. Building on its celebrated craft gins and single malt whiskies, this new creation expands the distillery’s offering with a spirit that pays homage to Stirling’s heritage as the gateway to the Highlands and its rich tapestry of history and folklore.
Inspired by the legend of the Baobhan Sith, a vampiric figure from Scottish folklore, the spiced rum embodies the mystery and allure of this mythical creature. Known to haunt travellers entering the Highlands, the Baobhan Sith would captivate her victims with her beauty before revealing her darker, supernatural nature. Stirling Spiced Rum captures the essence of this tale with bold, warming flavours and a fiery finish that lingers like a legend.
Tasting Notes:
- Aroma: Bright orange peel and rich spiced fruit cake invite the senses.
- Taste: Sweet Demerara sugar and sticky dates meet bitter orange, with clove and cinnamon spices adding warmth, rounded off with smooth vanilla.

Situated at the foot of Stirling Castle, at the historic crossroads where travellers once ventured into the Highlands, Stirling Distillery crafted this Spiced Rum as part of its tradition of celebrating Stirling’s rich folklore. The bottle design, featuring an artistic depiction of the Baobhan Sith by Scottish artist Ritchie Collins, further connects the rum to the legends that inspire Stirling Distillery’s creations.
