Stirling Distillery Releases Final Additional Places in King James Cask Club Following Award-Winning New-Make Success

Stirling, Scotland – 13th February 2026. Stirling Distillery, situated at the foot of Stirling Castle, has announced a final limited release of additional places in its VI Casks for King James Cask Club, following strong early demand, production review and international recognition for the distillery’s new-make spirit.

The Cask Club centres on the VI Casks for King James limited-edition six-bottle whisky set.  By purchasing this set at £525, customers receive six bottles of Stirling’s award-winning whisky, matured across six distinct cask finishes: bourbon, sherry, port, rum, wine and madeira. The programme marks a major milestone in the return of whisky production to Stirling for the first time since 1852.

Six Casks For King James Whisky Set

When the Cask Club first launched, Stirling Distillery deliberately limited the number of places available, taking a cautious, quality-led approach while production and maturation planning were finalised.

Since launch, the distillery’s new-make spirit has been awarded Best Scottish New Make at the World Whiskies Awards 2025, recognising the character and promise of the spirit now maturing in cask.

Following confirmed production scheduling and maturation capacity, the distillery is releasing 18 additional and final places in the King James Cask Club.

The whisky is being matured in a traditional dunnage warehouse in sight of Stirling Castle, where stable seasonal conditions support long-term flavour development. Bottles from the VI Casks programme will be released bi-annually from 2027.

Membership of the King James Cask Club includes the VI Casks six-bottle set, first refusal on future new-make whisky releases, exclusive club merchandise, and priority access to selected distillery opportunities.

Distillery co-founder Cameron McCann said:

“We intentionally launched the King James Cask Club with conservative numbers while we confirmed our production and maturation planning. With our new-make spirit now internationally recognised and our schedules confirmed, we’re pleased to release a very small final number of additional places. This will be the last expansion of the programme.”

Feedback from recent whisky tasting guests has reinforced early confidence in the spirit’s quality, with one attendee noting:

“The new-make spirit shows real maturity already - naturally sweet with a gentle coconut note, and a finish that lingers pleasantly. It tastes remarkably ready and I’m very much looking forward to seeing how it develops in cask.”

Initial places were offered to e-news subscribers and cask owners and the remaining places are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first-come basis.
